Initially I used a Panasonic compact (FZ200) with an 18X zoom lens. In 2014 I upgraded to the Olympus OM-D E-M1 with an Olympus 75-300mm telephoto zoom. The original aim of this project was to simply photograph as many species as possible within the Canning Shire but over time my focus (pardon the pun) has changed to also getting good quality photographs. To that end, I bought the Olympus 40-150 mm lens with the 1.4 times teleconverter in September 2015. On the E_M1 camera this lens gives a full frame equivalent focal length of 112 to 420mm.
